Loyal BCMC customers, John and Lyn Bendell have bought and traded-in Frontline Campervans through BCMC for over 22 years and are now the proud owners of a Horizon Motorhome. Their first encounter with BCMC or Ballina Motor Village as it was known then, was in 1994 when John and Lyn called into BCMC to buy curtain clips on their way through Ballina. On the showroom floor that day was a “lovely van” that caught their eye – John and Lyn went in to buy curtain clips but came out with a new 1994 Frontline Campervan!!!
John and Lyn fondly remember their first purchase, which was through Ron, who they described as a ‘real gentleman’. Shirley (Ron’s wife and Clayton’s mum), played her part too – she gave John and Sue a small handmade material blue bear which they understood was something Shirley made every time someone bought a new van.
That very bear which John and Lyn have kept as a lucky charm still travels with them, and now lives in their new Banksia Horizon Motorhome. “We call it our lucky charm!”
We would love to see where some of the other BCMC bears have ended up! Did you have one? Where’s your bear now? Let us know via our Facebook page.
