Men’s Health Week 2018 is held June 11-17th. The idea is for communities and organisations across Australia to promote the health of our men and boys.
In Australia, Men’s Health Week provides a platform for challenging and debating key issues in men’s health and to raise the profile of men, their health outcomes and health needs around the country.
This approach celebrates the strengths of men, the contributions they make and the important role they play in society.
Striking that perfect balance between career and family is important and make employees feel a greater sense of control and ownership over their own lives, it encourages them to feel more motivated and less stressed out and have better relationships within the work place and at home.
Men are being encouraged to find someone to “natter about the things that matter” – including their health. Often, men find it easier to talk to a mate outside their home life and (if they are still in the work force), this mate is often a co-worker.
BCMC and Horizon Motorhomes proudly employs 23 local men from our community and takes pride in fostering a positive and healthy work-life balance. Staff get togethers are encouraged and organised. There are bi-annual barefoot bowls competitions and mountain biking, to a few cheeky Friday knock off beers.
We have so many talented men who contribute greatly to the healthy growth and development of BCMC and Horizon Motorhomes. From designers and draftsmen, to builders, mechanics and detailers, we can clearly see the multitude of strengths that men possess.
Let’s engage with our men and keep health on the forefront of our conversations with our mates, co-workers, friends and family.
